Snowboard Safety Leashes Work… Sometimes

Folks, this is a PSA. Never, ever clip your safety leash onto a chairlift.

That’s what one snowboarder at Mt. Ashland, Ore., did to lighten the load on his feet. The only problem, according to reports in the local paper, the Mail Tribune, he forgot he was hooked in when he went to offload. The chair swung around the bullwheel and the guy (described as an adult who asked that his name be withheld) ended up hanging upside down by his board. He was rescued within 5 minutes.
