What’s On This Weekend?
Answer: plenty! Celebrate a successful season at Mount Ellen with Gelandesprung, head to the beach at Jay Peak, watch skiers charge obstacles at Cochran’s and ride the bumps in the spring snow at Mount Snow.
1 | Gelandesprung and Mt. Ellen Closing Party, Warren, Vt.
Ski jumpers and newbies are invited to show their stuff on the Gelande. The longest jump wins a pair of skis, and best retro costume wins a pair of Dodge ski boots. Then, head to the Cowbell Champagne Party, where you’ll be challenged to shake up a champagne bottle and see if you can hit the cowbell with the cork. The party will close Mt. Ellen for the season.
1 | Jay Peak’s 38th Annual Beach Party
Jay Peak hosts a beach party complete with live music, beach chair raffles and water slides.
Watch or participate in this Nordic Cross, in which skiers of all ages race across uphill and downhill terrain, jumps and obstacles, all on one pair of skis. Spectators can enjoy pancakes with hot Slopeside Syrup.
2 | Bud Light Glade-iator at Mount Snow
Mount Snow’s springtime challenge is not one to be missed, as competitors take on the double black diamond in the soft spring snow.
