Stratton’s Columbus Day Weekend to Bring Festival Fun for the Whole Family

STRATTON, VT When Vermont leaves burst into vibrant color, Stratton’s Columbus Day Weekend Harvest Fest fills the Village Oct. 10-12., 2015.

Harvestfest is a fall-spectacular with live music, hay rides, carnival games, pumpkin painting & caramel apple dipping. Fun for the whole family, a caricaturist, face painter and balloonist will entertain in the Village.

Annual Craft Brewfest and Chili Cook-Off feature the region’s best craft brews and homemade chili recipes to be sampled by all. The finest regional and local Vermont breweries will be pouring samples and pints to enjoy. It wouldn’t be a true Brew Fest without a Keg Toss competition, kicking off at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Ride the gondola all weekend long for a 360-degree view of the world-renowned fall foliage from southern Vermont’s tallest peak. But that’s not the only way to get to the summit. The North Face Race to the Summit invites runners to challenge themselves in a 2.18 uphill race for over $2,000 in prize money and awards.

The Heels to Paws 5K returns to the Stratton race route on Saturday, October 10. Runners will be accompanied by their beloved dogs for this 5K run around Stratton to raise money for Second Chance Animal Shelter.

Saturday is filled with live music from saints and Liars, North and South Dakotas, An American Band and West End Blend.

Get the most out of your long weekend with the Harvest Fest Package. Stay 2 nights at select Stratton Lodging and receive admission to Brew Fest (with tasting glass), Chili Cook-Off, 1 gondola ride, and 1 day admission to the Stratton Fitness Center.
